Josephine’s Story

“I originally noticed Josephine’s add for adoption on Sit With Me Rescue’s Facebook page in September/14. I then looked at her profile on their website and contacted them the same day!

Josephine was an owner surrender to the Humane Society of Ottawa in July/14. In August/14 Sit With Me Rescue took her in and put her into a foster home which is where she stayed until October/14. Josephine is 11 years old and will be 12 in December this year

I was more than thrilled to hear Josephine was ours to adopt! She came home with us October 19th. This will definitely be her last ‘move’, she is very laid back, so full of love, so incredibly sweet & gentle. It didn’t take long at all for her to steal our hearts!

Josephine has very sensitive skin & ears and is on a hypoallergenic food which has been working our great for her. No more hot spots and ear infections since the switch to the new food. She is has also lost most if her hearing, so she has been learning new hand commands and so far so good!

I really can’t image giving your dog up after 11 years, it really breaks my heart that so many senior dogs are given up and less likely to be adopted. Senior dogs have just as much love to offer as a young puppy and we are more than happy with our senior girl Sit With Me  –  Kayla and Chris
