Earl came to me via Bullies In Need He showed up in the shelter system in a sad state. He was emaciated, suffering from frostbite on his ears and tail. He was scabby and bald…but unbelievably, just a completely happy, social guy! I wasn’t sure I was ready to take on an “old” dog having just lost my first dog to cancer only a few short months earlier, but given time to think, I finally decided to toss my selfishness aside and give this guy the chance he deserved. It took just one day for me to realize that he was “the” dog. We just clicked. My heart dog had arrived, even if I didn’t truly know it yet.
Earl has been with me now for over 6 years. In that time, he’s been an amazing big brother to the various foster dogs that have come through our doors, showing them the ropes, always taking it upon himself to school them as if they were his own. He always just seemed to know what each one of them needed to succeed. So, I have to give credit, where credit is due…my foster dogs turned out amazingly well more because of his tutelage than anything else!
